Foodbank news…

Note from Darlene… I stopped by the trucks last weekend and, even though people were dropping off food and being very generous, we can do a lot more. It’s easy to forget to stop by and this weekend might snow/rain so don’t let the weather stop you.

Please mark your calendar. And, even if you don’t have time to shop, make out a check and just drive by and drop it off.  You’ll meet some great FRHS parents sitting in their lawn chairs with big smiles ready to take those checks or bags of food – you don’t even have to get out of your car!!!   Please, please make a special effort to help out… and here’s a repeat of the announcement I ran before.. this is the last weekend of the food drive.

Westmoreland Food Bank Needs Your Help and its very easy to help… just read below

“Due to the economic condition, the Westmoreland County Food Bank’s inventory is drastically low.  At this time of year especially as the weather is getting colder, warm nourishing food is needed.  Therefore, a food and cash/check drive will be held, at the Rite Aid and Shur Save parking lots in Murrysville, on Nov 8 and 15 from 10am until 4pm

Westmoreland County Food Bank trucks will be set up to collect non-perishable food and cash/check donations which are all tax deductible.  While you are grocery shopping for your family this week, please consider picking up a jar of peanut butter, can of tuna fish, dry pasta and sauce, Dinty Moore Stew, canned orange juice or some other substantial food items.  Your donations will be helping your own neighbors.

If you would like to volunteer for a 2 hour block of time on those days (all ages welcome), please call the WCFB, Louise Wilhelm, at 724-468-8660 ext. 13.”
