Your comments and suggestions are always welcome. To contact me or to subscribe/unsubscribe to the newsletter, please send email to FRHSnews@comcast.net. Thank you, Darlene H. Skupien

Counseling Center News www.franklinregional.k12.pa.us/sites/hscounselingcenter All students will have a yearly, individual appointment with one of the counselors. Students have the opportunity to view their permanent record, discuss future plans, such as career or college preparation, and talk about any issues that may be of concern to them. However, you do not need to wait until you receive an appointment slip from your counselor. Simply stop in before, during, or after school between 7:00 AM and 3:00 PM to arrange for an appointment. Our goal is to help you make the most of your school experience and to help you prepare for a rewarding future.
SAT Test Date – Saturday, October 4, 2008 This is to alert you that there will be an SAT test given at Franklin Regional High School on Saturday, October 4th – this is the test usually taken by Seniors who plan to have their scores sent with their college applications. If you have questions about this, you can call your Guidance Counselor, or you can register online at www.collegeboard.com … If you do register online, the high school code is 392835. Franklin Regional HS is just one of the locations offering the test and it does fill up quickly, so you might want to go online and create an account and sign up as soon as possible.
CELL PHONE POLICY… REMINDER FOR STUDENTS AND PARENTS!!! Students may keep a cell phone in their locker, book bag, etc. They may not take the phone out during school hours to use it, text, take photos, etc. If they are caught using the phone during class, study hall, restroom, locker, etc during the day, it will be confiscated and RETURNED TO PARENT ONLY. This meeting is open to all parents of middle school and high school players. General information will be given, coaches will speak, and opportunities will be given to those who may want to volunteer for committee chairs and board positions, including a new secretary in November. Please direct questions about this to Carol L Buterbaugh [cbuterbaugh@duqlight.com].
Cafeteria News… There is a great way to pay and monitor what your kids eat at the cafeteria. I highly recommend using the online mealpay program. The web site is www.mealpayplus.com – it’s a convenient way to pay for your child’s lunch and to figure out what they eat.
YOUR HELP IS NEEDED!!!
The PTO is looking for a volunteer to head up Teacher Appreciation for the high school this year. In the past, the PTO has done several things throughout the year to let our teachers/administrators/secretaries know how much we appreciate them. We’re excited to report that we have two volunteers to run the Teacher Appreciation Luncheon. Thank you to Naydine Hanna and Midori Vasquez.
We still need a junior parent volunteer… Also, the PTO is looking for a junior parent to head up the PSSA breakfast. If you are looking for detailed information about what this involves, contact Lynn Gurrentz at lynngurrentz@comcast.net She handled it last year and can fill you in.
The PTO is always looking for support and helping the PTO is a great way to get involved with the high school. Just look at the Calendar of Events below and get involved… it’s a great way to spend the day!
